1. July 17, 2000 Denver, Colorado Alpha Lambda Tau is proud to announce the Denver Colony at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Organizing President, Dan Connors, along with seven other students have formally petitioned the Board of Directors to be recognized as an official colony of ALT. Connors says, "After attending the Millennium Youth Conference in Las Vegas (July 2000) we felt that ALT was really in touch with the needs of gay students. We are excited to get started and look forward to becoming a new chapter." The International Board of Directors is very pleased to welcome the Denver Colony at Regis University and looks forward to building a strong foundation as we continue to "MAKE IT HAPPEN"! 2. July 16, 2000 Las Vegas, Nevada The Annual General Business Meeting of International Directors and Chapter Delegates held during the Millennium Youth Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 16, 2000 voted unanimously to hold the 2001 International Millennium Youth Conference on the campus of IUPUI (Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis) located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The youth conference, open to all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and alternative lifestyle friendly youth and students ages 16 and over, will focus on leadership and cultural issues.
3. July 15, 2000 Indianapolis, Indiana The ALTAU Foundation has received over $500 from various donors in the past week to help defray costs associated with the Millennium Youth Conference. The Foundation, which just kicked off its fundraising efforts, was created to provide funding for leadership training, college scholarships, educational grants, and program development.
